New Governor of Pannonia Appointed

The Autonomous Region of Pannonia now has a new governor, after the post was renounced by former Governor Matthew Phillips.

34-year-old Mickael Lalardie of the United Republican Social Liberal Party was appointed Governor of Pannonia by South Maudlandian President Matthew Phillips last night, becoming the second person to hold the title, formerly held by President Phillips himself. The President resigned from the post after offering it to Lalardie, claiming that Pannonia, as an Autonomous Region, should have its own separate administrator, to represent the interests of its people and to handle internal matters at a subnational level.

President Matthew Phillips has expressed his confidence in the new Pannonian Governor. “I believe that Mr Lalardie will do a fine job of overseeing regional affairs. I am confident that, under him, Pannonia will have a secure, stable future”, he said.

Mickael Lalardie’s appointment comes at a time of tension and instability in the Pannonian region, with several countries attempting to assert their sovereignty over the 6.5km2 territory, in what is becoming widely known as the Pannonian Crisis.
